Exhibits and Activities for Everyone

Best Buy set up an area where old consumer electronics could be dropped off to be recycled and Energy Star appliances were exhibited.

People who attended EarthFair 2003 learned about current environmental problems and what can be done about them from groups such as Arctic Watch, Earth Day Network, Environmental Defense, NRDC, NYPIRG, The Equator Initiative, The Sierra Club and the Union of Concerned Scientists. They also had a chance to check out GEM cars, Zip Cars, the first green residential hi-rise in New York City, Progressive Asset Management, Environmental Construction Outfitters and more.

Children's Entertainment

Children enjoyed musical entertainment by Laurie Berkner, Louie and others. They had a great time learning to make paper, buttons, and participating in other educational craft projects.

People won Prizes!

Earth Day New York held a raffle, giving attendees the change to win a neighborhood electric vehicle by GEM Car, a Polara™ refrigerator range, a free year of travel on NY Water Taxi, free Zip Car use in New York City and environs, an eGO scooter, Patagonia outerwear, Earth-friendly cleaning products and more.
